HR Club: Employment Law and Immigration update

On Thursday 27th March we hosted our second HR Club session of the year.

We were thrilled to hear from Raymond Silverstein, Partner at Browne Jacobson LLP, and Melanie Stancliffe, HR Club co-chair and Employment Partner at Cripps Pemberton Greenish, who led the discussion on the employment law aspects of the session. Kim Vowden, Partner at Kingsley Napley LLP, complemented these updates by sharing the latest developments on immigration law. A special thanks to Pia Dekkers for co-chairing the session with Melanie Stancliffe.

On the employment front, our attendees were briefed on several key topics, including the Employment Rights Bill currently under discussion in the House of Lords, as well as matters related to Redundancy, Unfair Dismissal, and the upcoming Neonatal Care Leave & Pay, which will take effect in April 2025. In regards to immigrations, covered topics included eVISAs, Skilled Worker VISAs, Electronic Travel Authorisations, and the EU Settlement Scheme.

Thank you to our speakers and attendees for engaging in the insightful Q&A session, and to our sponsor, EDHEC Business School, and our generous host, Browne Jacobson LLP.
