Join us for our People & Workplace series: Implementing strategies to address sexual misconduct at work on Thursday, June 27
From October 2024 there will be a new duty on employers to prevent sexual harassment.
This will require employers to take reasonable steps to prevent the sexual harassment of employees during the course of their employment, and employers should consider the practical steps needed in order to comply ahead of the new duty. It will sit alongside the existing legal framework prohibiting employers from sexually harassing their employees, and employers can be liable for acts of sexual harassment carried out by their employees in the course of their employment.
This event will also focus on strategies for effectively addressing allegations of sexual misconduct, which may also amount to a criminal offence, and will provide advice on conducting thorough investigations.
Given this new legislation and in light of recent high-profile cases of sexual misconduct in both public and private sector organisations, the event is a not-to-be-missed opportunity for HR professionals and legal counsels to get to grips with their duties.
