François became Managing Director of VINCI Construction Grands Projets for the British Isles sector in 2018. On behalf of VCGP, François leads the strategic direction and management of some of the largest and most complex civil engineering projects in the UK, with key customers including: Highways England, HS2, Crossrail, Thames Water and Tideway.
François is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and holds a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the renowned French engineering school ESTP, and a master’s degree in Logistics and Organisation from IESTO-CNAM (Paris) University. François is a fluent speaker of French, English and German, and has a good knowledge of Spanish.
François came to the UK in 2010 as Project Director on the Lee Tunnel, and then moved on to the Tideway East project. At CVB Tideway he led and integrated a large multidisciplinary team, whilst promoting a strong safety culture throughout the workforce. During his 30 years at VINCI Construction, François has gained extensive international tunnelling and excavation experience on large civil engineering projects. This includes the tunnel Vue-des-Alpes and water storage ‘des Valangines’ in Switzerland, the XiaoLangdi dam tailrace tunnels in China, and metro tunnels in Hong-Kong & Hungary
