Alain Harfouche, General Manager of L’Occitane en Provence Spain since September 2009, was appointed General Manager of L’Occitane Southern Europe in July 2014. In 2016, he moved to London in order to take the responsibility of the UK & Ireland markets, his official title is now Regional Managing Director UK, Ireland and South Europe. Since 2003, Alain Harfouche has successfully contributed to the development of the L’Occitane en Provence brand in several markets, especially in France and Continental Western Europe as Head of Retail Property Europe from 2008 to 2009.

He started his career in the Hospitality & Food retail industry and joined Haagen-Dazs France in 1995 as Retail Regional Manager.

         


and Catherine Palmer, Legal & Administrative Director, Joseph

Catherine Palmer

     
 
Board member and legal director of the Joseph group; the role includes responsibility for subsidiaries in France. Appointed following the acquisition of the Joseph brand by the Japanese group, Onward Holdings.
 

Previously, she was a corporate lawyer in private practice (Slaughter and May, Browne Jacobson and Fladgate Fielder).

 

 

 
 
Aims and Objectives

The retail sector is undergoing major transformations, the biggest of which being the rise of Internet shopping, and retail brands must re-think how they market to and engage with their audience and clientele.

From online to traditional retail, from high street to luxury sectors, the Retail Forum primary mission is to discuss and analyse new challenges and opportunities for member companies operating in the retail business.

Themes to be discussed include digitalisation, meeting customer demands and new shopping, including food and beverage, as well as experiences. A summary of each Forum session will also be published and shared with all members of the Chamber.
