Patrick Masson

Joined Sotheby’s in 2007

Spent four years with Sotheby’s Paris and seven with Sotheby’s London

Has over 20 years’ experience in the art market working at the leading auction houses

Works across Sotheby’s entire organisation, spanning different countries, continents and departments.

Served as Président-Directeur Général of Sotheby’s France in 2015 in now General Manager for Sotheby’s Europe, Middle East, Russia, India and Africa

Isabelle Paagman

Senior Director, European Head of Private Sales, Contemporary Art

 

Joined Sotheby’s in 1999 as a European Fine Arts business advisor developing Internet auctions and moved to the Contemporary Art department as a Specialist in 2002.

In her current role, she makes extensive use of the five languages she speaks to secure numerous Contemporary Art consignments sourced from various European countries.

Her expertise and passion for Contemporary Art, as well as active use of her European network for Contemporary Art sales, make her a key player in the development of international clientele for auctions in London, Paris and Amsterdam.

Prior to coming to Sotheby’s, she graduated with an Honours degree in Fine Art Expertise followed by a Master's degree in Art Business, both from l'Institut d’Études Supérieures des Arts in Paris.

Samuel Valette

Senior Director, Vice Chairman, Private Sales, Worldwide, Impressionist & Modern Art

 

- 13 years at Sotheby’s

- Plays an active role in the organisation of Sotheby’s Impressionist & Modern Art sales in London, Paris and New York

- Was closely involved in the sale of Salvador Dalí’s Portrait de Paul Eluard, which set a new record for any Surrealist artwork at £13.5 million in 2011; and recently oversaw the record-breaking sale of Magritte’s Le Beau Monde in February 2014 for £7.9 million

- Oversaw the sale of Monet’s Nymphéas at Sotheby’s London (£18.5 million, 2007); works from the Durand-Ruel collection at Sotheby’s New York ($16 million, 2009); and the world record for a work by André Derain, when Arbres à Collioure from the renowned Vollard collection achieved £16.3 million in London in 2010

- Was previously a director of Galerie d’Orsay, an art dealing partnership specialising in 19th- and early 20th-century art

- Participated in the creation of the online company eAuctionRoom.
