Biography of Jean-Jacques Gautrot
Chairman & CEO of Areva UK



Jean-Jacques Gautrot graduated from “Ecole des Arts et Métiers" and “Ecole des Pétroles et Moteurs”, and he began his career in TECHNIP, an engineering company in 1968.

In 1979, he joined ST GOBAIN Group, as Chief Executive Director of a mechanical company acting in petroleum and nuclear industries.

From 1984 to 1989, he was for SGN (COGEMA Group) Site Director at La Hague surpervising the construction and commissioning of UP2 and UP3 reprocessing facilities.

Mr GAUTROT was from 1989 to 1996, Chairman and Chief Executive of Delattre Levivier, a specialized subsidiary of LYONNAISE DES EAUX Group dedicated to maintenance services for industrial facilities.

He then joined COGEMA in 1997 and was appointed Senior Director of the Business and Programmes Division, Nuclear Fuels and Recycling Branch in April 1998. His main assignments include in particular business development related to nuclear back-end fuel cycle services.

In June 2000, he was appointed Vice President for the Commercial and International Development of COGEMA.

In January 2002, he was in charge of the Enrichment Sector as Vice President and Chairman of the Executive Board of EURODIF and also, a member of the Executive Committee of COGEMA.

Jean-Jacques Gautrot was Senior Vice President of AREVA, in charge of International and Marketing, from January 2003 to September 2008. Since October 2008, he is Special Advisor to the CEO of AREVA, and Chairman & CEO for AREVA UK.
