About the Ryder Cup
With a heritage dating back more than 80 years, The Ryder Cup is one of golf’s most historic and prestigious team trophies. Since the first official Ryder Cup Match in 1927, the event has grown to become not only the most coveted team prize in golf, but also one of the world’s greatest sports events.
Truly great sporting occasions transcend their sport and this is certainly the case with The Ryder Cup, which attracts media attention and interest far beyond the ranks of committed golf enthusiasts alone. In 2018 the Ryder Cup returns to main land Europe for only the second time in its existence, having last been played at Valderrama in Spain. Since then Team Europe has not lost a home match and all eyes will be watching to see if they can continue this winning streak.
The 2018 Ryder Cup will take place at Le Golf National, Paris, France from the 25th to 30th September 2018 and is expected to attract over 250k spectators and guests.
About our speaker
Pascal GrizotPresident of the France 2018 Ryder Cup Committee
The 53-year-old Pascal Grizot has two passions in his life: business and golf. He spent 20 years of his life setting up and buying major retail companies, and in 2001 became, in association with Carrefour, the biggest franchisee in Paris. In 2006, he disposed of all his shareholdings, with the exception of his security company CPS, which he had founded 20 years earlier. Since then he has helped found Novescia, now France’s leading medical biology group; acquired stakes in industries as varied as communication (EGC & Associées), flower delivery (Interflora) and golf equipment (Golf Challenge); and has launched a structured products fund (Crystal Investissement).
