About our Guest Speaker
David Linley’s creative ability was nurtured by his parents from an early age as they encouraged his passion for making things. His talented father, the eminent photographer Lord Snowdon, was particularly influential, having trained as an architect and designed amongst other things the Aviary at London Zoo.
David attended Bedales School, an alternative school that emphasises Arts and Crafts, where he developed an avid interest in woodworking. He honed his skills at Parnham House School for Craftsmen in Wood under the tutorage of the legendary John Makepeace, who along with his parents encouraged him to embark on his career as a cabinet-maker when he was just 18 years old.
